Sharing from Clients

Dear Clare,

Thank you very much for your care in these days. I still vividly remembered the time when I made an appointment with you, I was only trying to talk to a stranger before my death, and I even cautiously left a fake emergency contact at that time. Luckily I met you, who were very caring and concerning, you did not look down on my weakness nor my darkness, you were a very kind-hearted person. You patiently listened to my sharing of my deepest pains, talked to me, warmed my heart, and brought tears to me. This moment of salvation saved me from the edge of death.

Thank you for never giving up in helping me!

Thank you so much for listening to my stories and feelings in last year! You advices have been very helpful and constructive. You taught me to face the problem with courage, and patiently walked me through the difficulties. I have improved a lot in last year...... thank you for not just helping me to solve the problems, but teaching me how to solve the problems, and empowered me to have the courage and faith to face the challenges in life!

Thank you for accompanying me through the lows of my life, and for listening to my thoughts and sadness when I needed emotional counselling most. Without you, I believe that I will still in pain now. Talking to you, made me I feel that I am not facing frustration and sadness alone, thank you!

                                                                                                                                                                                ~ L

Dear Clare,

I am very fortunate to have met you at the lowest point in my life! You make me feel happy again! Thank you!

                                                                                                                                                                               ~ Y

Dear Clare,

Thank you! You and your words made me stronger, more emotionally stable and made me see things clearly. If not for you, my life would have been a mess. Thank you for helping me get through the toughest time of my life. You have inspired me to be more kind to myself. Today, although I may not have everything I wanted, I am happy. You have been a HUGE part of my life and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't thank you in my heart.

                                                                                                                                                                               ~ B

A year and a half ago, my former counsellor resigned and referred me to you. To be honest, I was a little discouraged at that time. From the secondary school social worker to the government psychologist and private practice psychiatrist, I was thrown around like a ball in the past five years, and my illness never got better. I once thought of giving up having any counselling treatment, because this was a illness that could not be cured anyway. But luckily I met you when I was about to give up, and I decided to give it a try and started to receive your counselling support.

Over the last 1.5 a year, most of the suffering has been relieved. I used to carry many "amulets" for more than three years otherwise I could not leave my home, and was afraid to eat many food. Thinking back, these days was really torturing to me. In the past year and a half, you have taught me how to overcome these fear in steps.

My life now is no longer full of anxiety, and I was able to throw away those "amulets" one by one.
In the past, I could never dare to imagine that I can live a life like normal people, but I am now leading a normal life again.

Although my illness was not completed cured before my graduation, I have regained most of the freedom in life, and that has helped me a lot. I’m very fortunate to be able to meet you. You have helped me to cured most of my illness that was not treatable in five years. Now, I no longer need to pay for expensive medical bills, no need to take drugs, or carry those "amulets" with me when I go out.  I feel like ten kilograms lighter. After graduation, I cannot come back and meet you, but I believe that I should be able to prevent the relapse of this illness and I am also confident that I have the ability to face it. In fact, this illness is not as terrible as I imagined!

I was ready to give up after many years of unsuccessful counselling. I am very glad that I got to have yours my counsellor for the last few years. I am happy to say I have made some real, substantial progress with you and feel encouraged to keep going. You have really helped me understand myself better, set boundaries and give myself permission to accept myself. You have certainly changed my life for the better, and I will always be thankful for that.
